Trust In The Lord

Nahum 1:7–The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knows them that trust in him.

The Lord is good–”Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17).  “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” (Matthew 7:11).

1. A strong hold in the day of trouble–When trouble comes our way, the Lord is our secure refuge and defense. He is our shelter and protection against the evil that comes our way. We are sheltered in the arms of God.

2. He knows them that trust in Him–He knows when we are truly trusting in Him. He not only knows when we are trusting in Him but He knows us. He also knows the trouble we might be in. Without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6), however, He is pleased when we place our faith in Him. He will respond to our situation and our need because God is love. He will not neglect those that trust in Him.

“The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth” (Psalms 145:18).

So “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near” (Isaiah 55:6).
