Live By Faith

2 Corinthians 5:7–Walk by faith and not by sight.

Walking by sight–To walk by sight is to walk in the physical realm.  It is to walk in our own strength and according to our five senses.  It is to live according to our own reasoning.

Walking by faith–We are to live our lives in faith, trusting God in and for everything.  To walk by faith is to walk with God in the spiritual realm.  “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).  Faith is spiritual substance (the real or essential part of something) of things hoped for.  Faith is spiritual evidence (proof) of things unseen.

1. Abel worshiped God by faith (Hebrews 11:4). Therefore faith leads to more excellent worship.  “Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6).  “He that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).  Our worship is to be done in faith.  And when we worship in faith God is our rewarder.  He rewards us with an awareness of His presence, an uplifting of our spirit, a renewing of our mind, and a transforming of our lives.

2. Read Hebrews chapter 11 to see how others lived by faith.
