Be Transformed

Romans 12:2–Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God”.

Be not conformed to this world–Most people are busy being conformed to this world.  They follow after the latest fads.  They seek after the latest fashions.  They are involved with keeping up with the Joneses.  They are too earthly minded to be of any heavenly good.

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind–When we are born again (of God’s Spirit) we become a new creature in Christ Jesus: old things are to pass away and all things are to become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).  In other words our lives are to be transformed (changed).  For this change to take place our minds must be renewed.  Philippians 2:5 says, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus”.  The renewing of our mind is a change from being carnally (earthly) minded to being spiritually minded.  Our minds have been programmed by the world and people in the world. Our thinking is on a worldly level.  Our mind is tied to the 5 senses and our thinking is linked to the 5 senses.  Thus we hear that saying, “Seeing is believing”.  This would indicate that faith comes from seeing.  No, No, No.  “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).  Our minds must be renewed or changed and we must become spiritually minded. This will result in us being transformed.  This transformation will take place as the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of our understanding to the word of God and thus renews our minds.  The Holy Spirit reveals the word of God to us and in the process faith is created.  We then can walk by faith and not by sight.  Let us stay in the word of God and pray for the Holy Spirit to anoint the word and reveal it to us that our minds may be renewed and our lives transformed.

That you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God:

1. God’s will is good. It is suitable to His purpose for us. It is honorable and worthy of our submission to obey it.  We can depend on it being for our best interest.

2. God’s will is acceptable. We can receive it favorably. It can be received willingly and without fear.

3. God’s will is perfect. It is complete and excellent; without any errors.

4. As our minds are renewed and our lives are transformed we can prove God’s will to be good, acceptable, and perfect.
