Salvation And The Holy Spirit

2 Timothy 3:16–All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable.

The Holy Spirit is another necessary part in salvation.  “No prophecy ever came by the will of man: but men spoke from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21).  Isaiah 55:10-11 tells us that God sends forth his word by His Holy Spirit, and through mankind, and it shall accomplish what He pleases and in whom He sends it.  The preaching of the word is to be done in the power of the Spirit and not in the flesh.  “Our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit” (1 Thessalonians 1:5).

The Holy Spirit inspires the messenger with the message. The messenger is then to speak from God being moved by the Holy Spirit.  When the word of God is preached, the Holy Spirit anoints the word and empowers it.  He opens the eyes of the understanding of the hearer making it to come alive with meaning and purpose, producing faith, and convincing us of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.  You can be reading the Bible, and read a scripture you have read many times before, but on this day, it seems to jump off of the page at you.  You see something in it that you never saw before.  The Holy Spirit has opened your understanding.   He has revealed a new truth to you.  Then the word does not return unto God void, but it accomplishes that which pleases Him and it prospers in the thing whereto He sent it.

What an amazing God we have.  It is by God’s amazing grace.  It is a gracious gift.  It is not of works.  “We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:10).
