The Lord Knows Us

Psalms 139:1-4–O Lord, you have searched me, and known me. You know my down-sitting and my uprising, you understand my thoughts afar off. You compass my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, you know it altogether.

He has searched us and knows us.  He knows when we sit down or get up.  He understands our thoughts from afar.  He is acquainted with all of our ways.  He knows everything we say.

Psalm 139:13-16:–God has possessed our reins.  He has guided us.  He knew us and watched over us while we were yet in the womb where we were wonderfully made.  He saw us and watched over us while all the members of our bodies were being formed.  He was there when we were born and has known us all of our life.  We are not an after-thought of God.

Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).  He also said, “The sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name” (John 10:3).

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” Amen.

(Psalm 139:23-24)
