The Way, The Truth, and The Life

John 14:6–Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I am the way. Jesus did not say I am a way.  He said I am the way.  He is the one and only way.  Isaiah said, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6).  We have all gone astray we have turned every one to his own, personal way but we must come to the one and only true way.  We must come to Jesus.

I am the truth. Jesus is the physical embodiment of the truth.  He is the Word that was with God and was God and became flesh.  He is the reality of the truth.  He fulfilled the law and the prophets and thus was a manifestation of the truth.  When we see Jesus we see the truth in bodily form.

I am the life. When we receive Jesus we receive eternal life.  He is in us and we are in him.  “We are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones” (Ephesians 5:30).  We have become partakers of the divine nature through the exceeding great and precious promises (2 Peter 1:4).  Jesus said, “You abide in me, and I in you” (John 15:4).

No man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jesus is the only way to the Father and to heaven.

Without the way there is no going, without the truth there is no knowing,

and without the life there is no living.
