Doing And Receiving Good

Galatians 6:9-10 “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

Let us not be weary in well doing. We are not to lose heart or be discouraged in doing good deeds. There are things that would hinder us in this matter such as the way people react to our good deeds. Tribulation and problems, we face can hinder us as well.
In due season we shall reap. Having been born of the Holy Spirit we have a spiritual existence and we are to live by spiritual principles found in God’s word (the Bible). Here is one, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” (Luke 6:38). This principle applies to more than just money. The measure of good we do to others determines the measure of good we receive. We shall receive it when the time is right.
1. Therefore, let us take advantage of every opportunity to do good. We are to redeem the time and buy up every opportunity. We are to do good to all people but especially those of the household of faith.
2. “He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” This spiritual principle reveals that the degree of our receiving good is directly related to the degree of good we do.
3. Jesus set us an example, “Who went about doing good.” (Acts 10:38).
Let us spread around the good and share it with all. “What goes around comes around.”
