Loving God

Mark 12:30 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first and greatest commandment.”
Matthew 6:21: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” The heart loves what it treasures. How do you determine what you treasure most? Look at what occupies your time and what motivates your actions.
Philippians 3:8: “I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.” For the heart to love Jesus completely, it must treasure Him supremely. Loving the Lord with all our hearts will be the result of us experiencing the Lord in His glory and worth. When we direct our attention away from the Lord, our love will begin to grow cold.  What do you sacrifice to knowing Christ in His surpassing greatness?
Spending time with the Lord reveals the level of our love for Him. It will also be reflected in our worship of Him. Revelation 4:8: “The four beasts… rest not day and night, saying Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” They are before Him day and night, beholding and being bathed in His glory, which results in their worship of Him day and night.  How much time do you spend with Him?
