Is He Really Our Lord?

Luke 6:46 “Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
Why call ye me, Lord, Lord. There are many people who call Jesus Lord, but they have not made Him Lord of their life. A Lord is a person who has and exercises great power and authority in a person’s life. We can make him Lord of our life by submitting to Him and His will.
And do not the things which I say? He is only Lord if we allow Him to have and exercise power and authority in our life. We must submit to His will and His word.
This is a blessing we can experience now. As we submit to His will and His word through obedience, we will remain under His power and authority and will be under His protection. We will also experience His direction and leadership in our lives. Jesus must become our Savior and Lord.
This is a matter of our ultimate destiny. “Not everyone that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21). Saying and reality are often two different things. “Many draw near with their lips but their hearts are far from Him” (Matthew 15:8).
