Endued With Power

Luke 24:49: “Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”

Acts 1:8: “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Acts 2:16-18: “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; and it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy.”

Acts 2:32-33: “This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the Promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.”

The Father had promised to pour out of His Spirit upon all flesh. The purpose of this was that Christ’s followers would be endued with power from on high. We receive this power after that the Holy Spirit comes upon us. The reason we need to be endued with power from on high is that we might live as God wants us to live and that we might minister when, where, and how our Father wants us to. Jesus said He would send the promise of the Father. Jesus said, “He that believes on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified” (John 7:38-39). Jesus was raised up by God, seated by the right hand of God, exalted and glorified. As the Holy Spirit flows from our innermost being our lives will have influence and impact others. The word river’s implies we will influence others in different ways. Knowing the Holy Spirit is flowing through us is the greatest blessing we can experience in this life.
