Our Sufficiency Is Of God

2 Corinthians 3:5: “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.”

We are not sufficient of ourselves: Jesus said, “Without me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). In our own natural ability we cannot live as God would have us to live. On our own we can not fulfill the ministry God has called us to and get the results that He wants to see. We need the life and power that comes from Jesus to accomplish whatever we need to accomplish.

Our sufficiency is of God: God gives us as much of whatever we need to triumph and be victorious in our life and in our ministry. Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). God tells us, “It is not by might nor by power but by My Spirit says the Lord” (Zechariah 4:6). “We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us” (Romans 8:37). We can find the strength we need to face, deal with, and overcome whatever we have to in this life.

As the great hymn says, “I need thee every hour”. We truly need Him every hour. So, let us draw near to God and He will draw near to us (James 4:8). Thank you Lord for always being there for us.
