God’s Grace Saves Us And Teaches Us

Titus 2:11-12: “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.”

The Grace of God saves us:

  1. Saves us from the penalty of sin, death and hell, the moment we receive Him as our Lord and Savior.
  2. Saves us from the power of sin, continuously while we are in the flesh through the power of the Holy Spirit. He gives us power over sin, the flesh, and the world and any enemy both physical and spiritual.
  3. Saves us from the presence of sin–When we get to heaven we will experience total salvation and freedom for ever and ever.
  4. Has appeared to all men in the person of Jesus Christ, the Savior, Redeemer, Lord, and Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

The Grace of God teaches us:

  1. To deny ungodliness and worldly lusts–stop living a godless life in the flesh, following the lusts of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Stop allowing the cares and pleasures and riches of this world to choke the word of God so that it does not produce fruit in our lives.
  2. To live soberly–The mind having been set free, being renewed to think soundly and rightly.
  3. To live righteously–According to God’s standards, walking the paths of righteousness in faith and in the Spirit, and for His name sake.
  4. To live godly–We are to live a holy life, fully displaying the fruit of the Holy Spirit which is the Character of God.
  5. To be continuously looking for that blessed hope–Looking for the glorious appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ. We should live each day with this great expectation, saying, “He could come today”.
