Our Relationship With God

2 Corinthians 6:16: “You are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

We are the temple of the living God: A temple is a meeting place of God and man. We are a place of communion and fellowship with God. “Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in us” (1 Corinthians 6:19).

We are His people: We belong to God for we are His. “We are not our own for we have been bought with a price. Therefore we are to glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:20).

He is our God: He is the all powerful one to and for us. He is all knowledge and wisdom to and for us. He has given Himself for us and to us.

He dwells in us and walks in us: He has come to stay. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He will be with us always, even to the end of the world. He is with us when we lie down at night and when we get up in the morning. He is with us as we go our way through each day and when we come back in. He is here for us. Our awareness of Him is up to us. What do you do each day to awaken to and enjoy His presence? Daily spending time with Him in the word of God and in prayer and worship is the key.
