The Joy Of The Lord Is Our Strength

Nehemiah 8:10: “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”

The Lord’s joy is our strength: His joy is a part of the fruit of the Spirit which is to be manifest in our life (Galatians 5:22). It is “joy unspeakable and full of glory” (1 Peter 1:8). It is the inherent life of Jesus flowing into and through us that produces this joy in our lives. Jesus’ desire is for His joy to remain in us and that our joy might be full (John 15:11). The joy of the Lord is the strength that will help us through the day.

It is not your joy or my joy. It exceeds our joy and comes from the spiritual realm and not from the physical realm. It is not an earthly joy but a divine, heavenly joy. It is not based on outward things, but on what lies within. We can experience this joy even when there is no joy in the outward things.

“The kingdom of God is not meat and drink (outward things)
but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (inward things).
