The Good Shepherd

John 10:11–: “I am the good Shepherd.”

As the good Shepherd, Jesus gave his life for the sheep (John 10:11).
1.  Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
2.  “I lay down my life for the sheep…No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself” (John 15:17-18).
3.  Jesus knows his sheep and calls them by name and leads them (John 10:13).
4.  He goes before them and feeds them (John 10:4, 9).
5.  Jesus gives them eternal life (John 10:28) and protects and preserves them (John 10:28-29).

We are the sheep of His pasture:
His sheep hear his voice and follow Him (John 10:4). This is our responsibility. We are to listen to Him and follow Him. Herein shall we be blessed. He will take care of our spiritual and physical needs and He will protect us and preserve us.
