There is a spiritual conflict

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 The battle for the mind.

“The weapons of our warfare” refers to the spiritual conflict.
(1) The weapons referred to here are only available to those who have been born of the Spirit of God (Christians).
(2) These weapons are not of the flesh, nor such as men of the world use. They are mighty through God.
(3) They pull down various obstacles that are designed and adapted to oppose the truth of God.
(3) They cast down thoughts and reasoning’s.
(4) They cast down the pride in one’s own understanding and knowledge and self-confidence which are all opposed to the knowledge of God.
(5) They bring every thought to the obedience of Christ.
(6) They are effective in helping others who are disobedient. This is reference to Christian discipline. It is to be done in love and with understanding, forgiveness, and with the purpose of redemption and restoration. It is not to be done legalistically, dogmatically, judgmentally, nor in an attitude of holier-than- thou.
The spiritual enemies. Ephesians 6:12
(1) The enemies are not flesh and blood, but are spiritual rulers, authorities and powers of darkness. They are spiritual forces of evil.
(2) They oppose God’s working in the lives of people in this world.

The Christian’s strength and power for this conflict. Ephesians 6:10-11
(1) Our strength and power is from the Lord Jesus Christ (the Spirit that dwells in us). It is the power of His might. You are of God and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).
(2) We are to put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

We will look at this armor in tomorrow’s post.
